Producer: Fred Hostetler & Karen Lawrence Recording, mix & mastering: Ricky Delena, Fred Hostetler Musicians: Fred Hostetler guitar, John Goodsall lead guitar, Doug Lunn bass, Tony Brock drums Track Length: 04:12 Composer: K.Lawrence, F.Hostetler Language: English Genres: Post-new wave melodic hard pop, 80’s Rock, Heartland Rock

‘Somewhere in Paradise’ is a legacy single pulled from the late 80’s vault of unreleased tracks recorded by Lawrence and Hostetler. After being left off Lawrence’s ‘Rip and Tear’ album for Revolver Records in the UK, fans* who had heard half the track in the low budget film ‘Soultaker’, began to request the release of the full song. Lawrence and Hostetler have done the needful. The song was inspired by a tragic loss early in her music career and as such is dear to her heart.

Karen has honest-to-goodness industry credentials as the co-writer of the song ‘Prisoner’, theme song for the movie ‘The Eyes of Laura Mars’ performed by Barbara Streisand (4x Platinum) and also covered by blues great Joe Bonamassa. She sang on Aerosmith’s ‘Get It Up’ and sang and co-wrote on Jeff Beck’s Beckology as well. List of credits

The new release from Blue By Nature founders and co-writers Lawrence and Hostetler is a follow up to her previous single ‘Bad Spell’, a 2021 release, and the 2019 single, ‘I Couldn't Help But Love You’. Ms. Lawrence is known for her rich song writing skills and powerful vocals which were instrumental in securing for “Blue By Nature’s guitar-based blues sound a solid core of faithful followers across the USA throughout the 1990's, and has continued to appeal to blues lovers through perpetual internet exposure, including interviews, performances, and airplay.”(Steve Gabe, Blues Blast Magazine 2021). Lawrence is in the process of completing a future release and steps out occasionally in south Texas to play live.

The song title is emblematic of our need for a river of hope to carry us through these troubling times. This ‘Avant Americana’ single asks us all to pool together, climb aboard, and catch the flow of the river of hope. The music suggests a compelling journey ahead and creates the flow with inventive textures that carry the listener on to river waters. The haunting hypnotic track and uplifting message of the lyric combine to create a mysterious Pacific Northwest ambience. Plenty of vocal work from Hostetler and Cribbs, who are the only musicians on this track as they trade off telling the story of the river. Hostetler was awarded 2019 Best Singer Songwriter by LA Music Critic. Cribbs grew up in Ireland where he first began working in a recording studio.

Description: This blues rock single opens with a howling slide guitar that sets the tone, carrying and sustaining the intensity of the lament throughout. With a nod to the storytelling tradition of folk music, Hostetler sings about apparent consequences of climate change as told through the eyes of a field hand surrounded by natural disasters.

A funky bluesy rocker with 'get down' bass and guitars alongside an evocative lyric and stirring vocal creates a biting commentary on 'me first' culture. Hostetler continues a string of 2019 singles by releasing his third solo effort after the 2018 Heart Radio album release. This time the singer-songwriter crosses into social commentary supported by a hybrid soulful rock blues groove. Joseph Timmons of Indie Pulse Review comments that Hostetler was a "powerful driving force in Karen Lawrence and Blue By Nature and is known as a 'Spiritually Guided' artist by his contemporaries." The track was recorded and produced by Hostetler and mixed by Robbie Cribbs at Soundtrap Studios.
