‘Somewhere in Paradise’ is a legacy single pulled from the late 80’s vault of unreleased tracks recorded by Lawrence and Hostetler. After being left off Lawrence’s ‘Rip and Tear’ album for Revolver Records in the UK, fans* who had heard half the track in the low budget film ‘Soultaker’, began to request the release of the full song. Lawrence and Hostetler have done the needful. The song was inspired by a tragic loss early in her music career and as such is dear to her heart.

Karen has honest-to-goodness industry credentials as the co-writer of the song ‘Prisoner’, theme song for the movie ‘The Eyes of Laura Mars’ performed by Barbara Streisand (4x Platinum) and also covered by blues great Joe Bonamassa. She sang on Aerosmith’s ‘Get It Up’ and sang and co-wrote on Jeff Beck’s Beckology as well. List of credits

The new release from Blue By Nature founders and co-writers Lawrence and Hostetler is a follow up to her previous single ‘Bad Spell’, a 2021 release, and the 2019 single, ‘I Couldn't Help But Love You’. Ms. Lawrence is known for her rich song writing skills and powerful vocals which were instrumental in securing for “Blue By Nature’s guitar-based blues sound a solid core of faithful followers across the USA throughout the 1990's, and has continued to appeal to blues lovers through perpetual internet exposure, including interviews, performances, and airplay.”(Steve Gabe, Blues Blast Magazine 2021). Lawrence is in the process of completing a future release and steps out occasionally in south Texas to play live.
